Installation instuction for AirArms classic air rifle pressure regulator
NOTE: Few customers wrote to us that in the last version of AA classic was added under valve spring iron roller. This roller has to be removed to get valve spring preload right, in some cases airtube could not be filled, there was airleak around valve when this roller was not removed.
It is appropriate before reading the instructions look at the video instructions and then read the instructions for avoiding common mistakes during installation AirAmrs
How to mount Altaros regulator
Drain all air from airtube and unscrew coupler between airtube and barrel. Unscrew airtube and unscrew manometer too, deflect manometer and unscrew bolt under him.
Replace original airchamber with new one which is sent with regulator. Screw this new airchamber in such depth that from top of the valve to top of this new airchamber is distance 7,9mm.
By doing this and screwing it in right position you set optimal spring preload. Screw small bolt under manometer so new airchamber can not be unscrewed anymore. Put manometer back in original position and screw manometer holder. Check inside of airtube and o-ring on regulator, all should be clean without any damage. Spray thread inside of airtube and o-ring on regulator with silicone spray. Push regulator inside airtube (brass regulator towards quickfill). Then push airchamber in airtube too. It should be pushed in such depth that you see approximately half of inner thread inside of airtube. Take airchamber out and put it next to valve, attach airtube and start screwing airtube back on airgun valve. By screwing it back ( with airchamber inside ) you get your regulator in the right position. Installation is complete.
Before filling is needed stretch cocking lever rifle, otherwise air will still pass through the barrel. When filling is necessary to fully open the valve diving bottle until in airtube is 70bar or more, then it is possible to fulfill the normal speed.
Setting pressure of airgun regulator
Altaros regulator output pressure can be set from 100bar (1450 PSI) to 150bar (2200 PSI). For a quick setting is on regulator engraved scale according to which the desired output pressure can be set. The total scale range of 100-150bar corresponds to approximately 1/2- turn. Unscrewing, or screwing setting screw more than 1 turn may result in a malfunction of the regulation and scale will not show you regulated pressure. Groove on red marked half of setting plastic screw represents pointer which shows you currently set pressure on the scale. To change the pressure on regulator, just simply rotate the set screw with the flat screwdriver in the appropriate direction according to regulator scale.
Regulator pressure scale with three different settings
Recommended output pressure to 16 J is in the range of 100 to 120 bar.
Altaros regulator shipment contains
- Airarms Regulator
- Brass handle for regulator
- Airchamber
- Spare o-rings
Recommended settings rifle after installing the regulator. Set a side screw that restricts the flow through channel in the barrel to achieve minimum consumption at 16J.
Remove the side screw, which is interfering in the channel and then try screw it little by little back until it begins to decrease Shooting speed.
Warning:
Never unscrew regulator brass screw plugs! If you do so the regulator immediately stops working and repair is only possible at the manufacturer! Regulator must be installed no later than six months after purchase. Ideally immediately upon delivery.
You must keep maximum cleanness in the entire pressure system (airtube and outer o-rings).
The disassembly of the internal parts regulator or failure at the exact installation procedure means that you can not claim the warranty. Since the regulator is not original part from the manufacturer’s, installation is on your own responsibility.
