CZ 200S video Installation

What to do when your output pressure increasing over time? This is most likely caused by dirt on o-ring on plastic screw.

In this video is shown how to remove dirt and replace o-ring. In video is used Gunpower regulator. Procedure is the same for other regulators.

Installation instructions for CZ 200S air rifle pressure regulator

It is appropriate before reading the instructions look at the video instructions and then read the instructions for avoiding common mistakes during installation Regulator Fitting Instructions for S200 UK Model (CZ200T)

You will need the following very basic items

  • A good strong vice
  • A pair of Stilsons (pipe wrench)
  • A flat screwdriver
  • A piece of abrasive paper about 6” x 4” – Some green P80 AlyOxide will do fine
  • A pair of Hex head machine screws – M5 should do nicely

Step 1

Cut the screws down so that the length of the screw is not long enough to touch the bottom of the 4.2mm holes in the brass end cap. Turn the diameter of the threads down so that it forms a push-fit in the hole – You don’t need to lose a lot – Hold the hex head firmly in the chuck of a variable speed electric drill and filed it down gently with a smooth file while the screw was rotating – slowly! Check that you are getting tight fit to holes in the cap.

Step 2

Discharge the air from the cylinder and remove it from the rifle. Moderator comes off first to let the cylinder out. Put the rifle away somewhere safe and clean. Wrap the abrasive paper tightly around the cylinder going around itself once – ROUGH SIDE OUT – and clamp it in the vice firmly but taking care not to compress the metal. The paper goes on about 3” from the brass.

Step 3

Drive the screws into the holes – Press them in by hand to start with, then a slight tap with a light hammer – or compress them into the holes with the vice. Take care to orient a pair of flats of the hex head parallel to the length of the cylinder so that the Stilson jaws don’t come up against a corner.

Step 4

Carefully get the Stilson on the hex heads taking care not to touch the brass with the wrench. Tighten Stilson wheel as much as possible. Then, apply firm continuous pressure on the screws turning them anti-clockwise. The cap will start to turn. Be patient with this step.

If the cap does not come free and you feel the cylinder turning in the vice, gently tighten the vice a little bit more.

Step 5

Once the cap starts to turn, all you need is finger pressure. Leaving the hex head screws in place, unscrew the brass cap completely. The aluminum tube attached to it also unscrews with finger pressure.

Step 6

Once it is off, use the screwdriver to screw in the brass screw inside the cap till it is 10 mm deep. If you have and AT-free rifle, you would screw in this brass s crew all the way in, then ease back (unscrew) by 1/2 turn to reduce the air coming out

Step 7

Screw-in the regulator where the original aluminum tube was – all the way – again finger tighten only. Re-assemble the cap + regulator assembly into the cylinder. Nip up using the Stils ones and hex head screws going clockwise this time.

Before re-assembly, ensure the o-ring on the regulator seals well in the brass cap. Do not overtighten.

Un-restrict the side screw on the action and set it to get the desired legal UK output of sub-12 ft.lbs** Remember, higher power does not equal higher accuracy!

After regulator is installed it is necessary to limit firing pin spring to ensure lower air consumption. By doing this you can increase number of regulated shots (even after this setting you will still remain on energy 16j). This screw is located under the handle stretching, it is necessary to take stock off from air rifle. Loosen the screw so that the screw head is at the same level with the airgun body edge.

Remove the screws from the holes – you may need a set of pliers to pull them out – they should have left absolutely no visible damage.

Warning:

Never unscrew regulator brass screw plugs! If you do so the regulator immediately stops working and repair is only possible at the manufacturer!

You must keep maximum cleanness in the entire pressure system (airtube and outer o-rings).

The disassembly of the internal parts regulator or failure at the exact installation procedure means that you can not claim the warranty. Since the regulator is not original part from the manufacturer’s, installation is on your own responsibility.

Setting pressure of airgun regulator

Altaros regulator output pressure can be set from 100bar (1450 PSI) to 150bar (2200 PSI). For a quick setting is on regulator engraved scale according to which the desired output pressure can be set. The total scale range of 100-150bar corresponds to approximately 1/2- turn. Unscrewing, or screwing setting screw more than 1 turn may result in a malfunction of the regulation and scale will not show you regulated pressure. Groove on red marked half of setting plastic screw represents pointer which shows you currently set pressure on the scale. To change the pressure on regulator, just simply rotate the set screw with the flat screwdriver in the appropriate direction according to regulator scale.
